A candidate eligible for admission to the Bachelor of Arts Degree Course shall have passed XII std. Examination of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent and secured not less than 35% marks in aggregate at one & the same sitting.

Every Candidate admitted to the Degree Course in the Constituent/affiliated College/recognized institution, conducting the Course, shall have to register himself/ herself with the University.

In the First Year, Second Year and the Third Year of the B.A. Degree course the subjects offered with various
combinations are as under :

F.Y.B.A.

S.Y.B.A.

Eight Subjects (units) are to be offered by the applicant.

A. Compulsory Subject : 1. Foundation Course - II

B. Optional Subjects : The Subject combination will be the same as offered by the student at F.Y.B.A. class because a student is required to continue with the same subject combination as per University rules.

C. Applied Component (A.C.) - Any one of the following :

1. Travel & Tourism
2. Advertising
3. Journalism
4. Women’s Studies
5. Psychology of Adjustment
6. Book-keeping and Accountancy

T.Y.B.A.

Six units are to be offered by the applicant.

A student can offer 1 Major subject ( 6 units ) or 2 Part - Major subjects (3 units each ) from amongst the subject combination which the student has offered at F. Y. and S.Y.B.A. classes.

With 1 Major subject a student has to offer 2 subject-related Applied Components, whereas with 2 part-Major subjects,
1 Applied Component for each of the 2 subjects has to be offered by the student.

The subjects offered are as follows :
A student must offer Group A or Group B.

Group A : Major

  1. Economics
    Paper VII - Math & Stats / Research Methodology
    Paper VIII - History of Eco. Thought / International Policy and Practice
  2. English
  3. Psychology

Those students who opt for full-major must opt for two applied components in the same subject.
A.C.

(1) a. Rural Economics
      b. Corporate Finance

(2) a. Rhetoric, composition & applied language skills / Theory & Practice of translation
      b. Post - Colonial Perspectives on texts

(3) a. Industrial Psychology
      b. Counselling Pyschology

* (4) a. Archaeology, Museology and Library Science
         b. Current Affairs and General Knowledge

* Subject to approval from the University of Mumbai

Group B : Part Major Two subjects ( Three papers each ) Any One of the following combination :

1) Economics - Commerce
2) English - History
3) English - Psychology
4) Economics - History
5) Philosophy - History
6) Psychology - History
7) Psychology - Philosophy
8) Economics - Political Science
9) History - Political Science
10) Philosophy - Political Science
11) Psychology - Political Science
