The phenomenal expansion of the college, in terms of student strength and new courses, has brought new responsibilities. The college has tried to shoulder these with the help of appropriate modifications and systems, and by infusion of new technology.

The administrative office is now fully computerized, and the college constantly updates its hardware and software in order to streamline the system.

The Managing Board consists of eminent individuals occupying leading positions in industry and society.

Secretary, Managing Board: Prof. N.W. Shivdasani

Professor N.W. Shivdasani has been a part of Jai Hind College for over 40 years. He occupied the post of the Principal for 14 years till his retirement in 2004. He is passionate about his subject, Chemistry, and is remembered by generations of students as a great teacher. For several years he also functioned as the Head of Department of Chemistry. As a Principal, Prof. Shivdasani infused the students of Jai Hind with a new enthusiasm. He not only promoted academic progress but also the overall development of the individual personality of the student. Jai Hind College owes its excellence to his untiring efforts over the past several decades.

Shivy, as he is affectionately known, is truly someone the students of Jai Hind look up to for inspiration!!

Chief Administrator: Commodore Mohan Gidwani, VSM, Indian Navy (Retd.)
Commodore Mohan Gidwani holds a vast array of degrees under his belt. A commerce graduate from the University of Bhopal, he went on to do his LLB and M.A. in Social & Industrial psychology. In his very elaborate tenure of 33 years with the Indian Navy, he managed to also do a M.Sc. in Defence Studies and an MMS from Osmania University.

The Indian Navy utilized his potentials by awarding him various roles including those as a Senior Training Officer and Directing Officer with the Indian Management School. His law degree was responsible for making him the Judge Advocate General of Indian Navy. Other responsibilities held by him included governing bodies of various related institute like Estate Officer of Defence Civilian Colony, Director and Legal Advisor of Naval Dockyard Cooperative Bank Ltd., etc.

He has been awarded the Vishisht Seva Medal by the President of India in recognition of his services. After super-annuating as Commodore from the Indian Navy, Commodore Gidwani joined Jai Hind College as a Chief Administrator, on January, 2011.

The Principal : Dr Ashok Wadia
Dr Ashok Wadia took over as In-charge Principal in November 2011 and was appointed Principal in May 2012. He is also Head, Department of Microbiology. Dr Wadia has a dual graduation degree in both Chemistry and Microbiology. He went on to do his Postgraduate studies of M.Sc., M. Phil. and Ph.D. in the subject of Microbiology from University of Mumbai. He has more than 30years of teaching experience at undergraduate level and 25 years of teaching experience at Post graduate level.

Dr. Wadia has keen interest in research and has been pursuing it from his undergraduate days. He was a Research Fellow of Indian Council of Agricultural Research. His research work involves diverse areas of interest like of Virology, Immunology, Agriculture, Environmental Pollution Control, Health and Hygiene. He has been a regular visiting faculty at Leelabai Thackersey College of Nursing, Garware Institute of Career Education & Development and Pharmacy College of S N D T University.

Besides his academic pursuits, he also has worked as an Examiner for Quality Management at the Indian Merchants Chamber.
