Department of Hindi

The Hindi department at Jai Hind College boasts a rich history, dating back to its inception in 1948. The department is renowned for its vibrant academic environment, regularly hosting seminars, workshops, literary festivals, and guest lectures from esteemed universities. These events provide students with invaluable exposure and learning opportunities. Until 2022, Hindi was offered in the first year of the BA program. However, with the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP), the curriculum has been restructured. Hindi is now offered in the second year for students across Science, Commerce, and Arts streams. This change aligns with the NEP’s goal of providing a more flexible and interdisciplinary approach to education. Our program’s balanced approach ensures that students are well-prepared for a variety of career opportunities and real-world challenges. By integrating traditional and contemporary aspects of Hindi literature and culture, we equip our students with the skills and knowledge necessary to thrive in their chosen fields. The department’s commitment to academic excellence and cultural enrichment continues to make it a cornerstone of Jai Hind College.

Department of French

Jai hind college offers French in the first year of the BA program. The balanced approach and refreshing curriculum ensure that the students are well-prepared for a variety of career opportunities. The exposure to language and culture enables students to widen their perspective and equips one to excel in the present scenario of globalization. We plan to introduce French as open elective to students of all streams.
