department consists of an accomplished & dedicated faculty
with a passion for the subject. They have good communication
and teaching skills with the ability to handle subjects ranging
from Commercial Maths , Pure Maths to Computer Programming.
System Analysis & Programming in C and Java & networking is
offered as the Applied Component paper to the students of
T.Y. Math and T.Y. Physics.
The faculty is involved in research, PG teaching , syllabus
framing and training at different courses at graduate/ undergraduate
level and Olympiad training at the high -school level. They
are also on the Examiners'/Paper setters' Panels & syllabus
committees of Mumbai University.
The Mathematics Association - the co-curricular wing of the
department - organizes various activities as an extension
of class room teaching. These, over the years, include inter-collegiate
exhibitions , quiz contests and lectures on topics in pure
and applied mathematics by eminent mathematicians from T.I.F.R.,
I.I.T. etc. In 2006-2007 the Department launched a credit
