Bachelor
of Management Studies was introduced by University of Mumbai
in 1999. The objective of the program is to prepare students
for middle management positions in various spheres such as
marketing, finance, personnel and computers. B.M.S. is a 3-year
degree program comprising of 6 semesters and is limited to
a batch strength of 60 students. Jai Hind was among the first
30 colleges to be selected by Mumbai University to start this
program in 1999.The students for this course are selected
on merit on the basis of the aggregate score at Class XII
Examination. We receive over 1200 applications for 60 seats. Our
college figures among the top 5 colleges in the students'
list of preference, We have taken adequate measures to ensure
that the course is effectively conducted and faculty is carefully
selected from within academic circles and from industry. Students
have benefited from Industrial visits and their close interaction
with faculty members. All students on the completion of their
Second semester have to undertake 6-8 weeks Summer internship.
During the internship period the students catch a glimpse
of the corporate world and also witness how various theories
learnt in class are actually being applied in practice. Some
of our students also opt for summer school like Berkey Stanford
etc. in lieu of internships in India. Our students have done
very well at the final year university exams. For the academic
year 2005-06 we had 100% results, 78% of our students got
distinctions and the remaining 12% secured first class.
